As recognition of his expertise in the field of sports handicapping, Kruger was invited to participate in the prestigious World Series of Handicapping in 2006. Kruger led the contest for many weeks reaching the quarter-finals out of 36 world class handicappers before finally losing a close match-up on a bad-beat halftime bet.
