Alexander offers analysis and selections for all sports, specializing in college football, as well as the NFL and college basketball. The highlight of Christian's tenure with VegasInsider was undoubtedly 2002 when he posted an unprecedented 13-1 ATS record on his Thursday night college football plays.

Born and raised in Columbia, SC, Christian was educated at the University of Virginia and has called South Florida home ever since.

Alexander is married and when he isn't handicapping spends most of free time trying to pick winners at Gulfstream Park with his son, Christian, Jr.

I look for any game that has a +5 or more difference in returning starters. Here are the games that fit that bill from the opening weekend (Sept. 5-7). Home team in CAPS. Current spread from Sports.com also listed in parenthesis.

Akron +7 advantage in RS over PENN STATE (-29)

CAL +7 advantage in RS over Maryland (+21)

TEXAS A&M +6 advantage in RS over New Mexico (+15)

EASTERN MICHIGAN +6 advantage in RS over Army (+3.5)

Illinois +5 advantage in RS over Missouri

RUTGERS +5 advantage in RS over Cincinnati (+5)

Of those listed, I definitely like Illinois (-5) the most.

My typical approach when looking at Heisman props is to look for value. As such, I usually look past the favorite and see what kind of odds I can get on the 2nd or 3rd choice. Unfortunately, that's what makes this year so difficult. As most everyone knows, for the first time in a long while, there are basically three favorites to win the Heisman this year: past winners Tim Tebow and Sam Bradford along with Texas QB Colt McCoy.
